Grow in grace...

The reality is that in a Christian marriage, where the couple is growing in grace, they will figure this out along the lines of Romans 12:10: “Outdo one another in showing honor” — or outdo one another in showing grace or mercy or love or kindness or gentleness. This is the most wonderful kind of competition.

She will want to honor him by giving him what he desires. And he will want to honor her by giving her what she desires, which may be less of his desire. And they will pray, and they will talk, and they will struggle, and they will grow along the way.

Precious Words of Love (from Steven Loh)

It was a great void deck conversation we had.... I came upstairs to tell Lils what a very unique couple you are.... each one so very intelligent.... each one so in love with God.... each one with such high, high integrity....

definition of integrity: I do not use Webster, Oxford, nor other dictionaries.... I  use only the Dictionary according to Jehovah.... "integrity" to me, as I understand Jehovah, means to be integral / one / integrated, with truth. And, since all truth comes from Jehovah, integrity therefore means to be one with God's truths....

And my, oh my, how your journey over the last years is so different from the average youthful middle class Singaporean couple.... you are beginning to see more and more manifestations of the world's systems of control, even control of the minds of the citizens.... when you test everything against Jehovah's Mind, you will see that your difference is GOOD....

I did not know why I had to meet you on the eve of a new year, but I knew it is about your future walk on Earth. In the days following our conversation, the phrase cycling in my mind has been that you two are not to lose your God-given bright colours. That phrase has to do with the vision I shared the first time I met you as a couple: that you will be moved over the face of His tapestry (His church), and that wherever you pass over, the tapestry's colours will be shine out again. The colours were there before, but they are now faded. But, as for you two, you shall not lose your colours, and that word "shall" invokes a pro-active, deliberate choice of not allowing your love of God to fade. That word "shall" is used in the same way as in "You shall love the Lord your God....".

A word to the wise is enough, and here, I've laid out many words
....

... which is a long-winded way to say, since my love-language is words, that I love you two....

May this new year be the best year ever
in your individual and corporate lives....
may this be the very best ever.... and
may all succeeding years be even better....
all things are possible, for in Christ,
we are
never deprived of anything good for us....

At Sam and Ade's Wedding

The tasteful color co-ordination of cards, gowns, ties, flowers, ribbons etc. and
the specially prepared appreciation video and gifts communicated
the thoughtful, detailed hearts behind this special occassion.
Not forgetting Carol and the ESV bible, both all the way from India,
a timely re-connection with Steven and Lils from Clementi and also
kind Aunty Sally to the rescue with the lovely white cardigan
(doubling up as the backdrop for this mobile phone shot!).

David is married (Sunday 11 April 2010)!

God is good and faithful. It was with so much joy that we witnessed our dear David marry his lovely bride, Yan Ling, in the COOS auditorium. It has been a year since David left our company to work for COOS, and we are thankful to God for the passion for youth work that He has put into David's heart, and for His timing in all things...the 2 years that David spent with us had not been an easy journey for the little start-up with steep learning curves for each one of us, we are thankful to God for giving us the opportunity to know David better during those years. We pray for God's purposes to be fully worked out in this marriage, as we continue to place our confidence in God to work out His purposes in our own marriage.
爱是永不止息
To God be all the glory!!!

We are 10

Looking back at the 10 years and giving thanks for all that God has done in our lives as a couple

  • June 2009: Mun and Yin celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with beloved family members and friends from SJSM and COOS home cells, precious people whom we have shared our lives with at one point or another. And Mun leaves Singapore Polytechnic to embark on a new chapter of his life.
  • End 2008: God's amazing provision* of a beautiful and quiet home overlooking a park, that came with furniture, curtains and even plates and wine glasses!
  • July 2007: Learnaholic Pte Ltd was birthed. This one is surely an ongoing heart-DTS for Yin...is this really God's mission field for us? At times, it seems more like a battlefield between two opposites (creator versus executor, for those who are familiar with CARE profiling).
  • Feb 2007: First-ever SBS Night School started in Singapore. What a privilege to be part of this ministry!
  • Dec 2006: Mun completed his DTS lecture phase and was finally introduced to YWAM Singapore...for better or for worse.
  • Jun 2006: Yin completed 9.5 months of SBS and is convinced about the undying love of God for His people. Thank God too for several opportunities to teach His Word in mandarin.
  • Dec 2004: God saw Yin through 4 fulfilling years as a Physics teacher in RJC. What a tremendous blessing to have taught these young men and women! Yin steps out to explore God's call to missions.
  • May 2002: Mun graduated with his doctorate after re-writing his thesis with the help of his interpreter-ghost writer.
  • June 2000: Yin completed her DTS. It was the beginning of processing God's call to missions.
  • June 1999: Mun and Yin began their lives together as a married couple. Many thanks to all who helped so wholeheartedly prior to and during the wedding. Thank God for His provision of a Clementi flat in move-in condition (We didn't know then, but we bought this flat at an all-time low resale price*).
